Argyle Investment Memo to raise $20m Series-A

This is the Argyle investment memo to raise their $20m seed round in 2022.

About Argyle

Argyle is a leading provider of direct-source access to real-time income and employment data. Founded in 2018, the company offers a payroll connectivity platform that enables businesses to automate critical workflows such as income and employment verifications, deposit switching, wage advances, and loan repayments.

By leveraging consumer-permissioned payroll connections, Argyle serves various industries, including mortgage lending, personal lending, background checks, tenant screening, banking, and the gig economy.

This approach allows companies to reduce costs, increase efficiency, mitigate risks, and enhance customer experiences. Argyle is recognized for its innovation and has received accolades such as being named a World’s Most Innovative Company in 2024 by Fast Company.

The company operates on a fully remote basis, with a team distributed across multiple continents.

Argyle Investment Memo

They didn’t make a pitch deck, instead, they wrote a memo to raise their $20m seed round.

A pdf

They made a Notion site which is highly obnoxious, as it’s just so not in a VC workflow, difficult to understand and generally unnecessary.

I made an image of the level one of the site for posterity. It will disappear eventually.

The notion website

You can find the public Notion site that they have shared here (so long as it is public): https://argylesystems.notion.site/

Conclusion

Most founders should not make an investment memo, let alone a website…
