Bubble Pitch Deck to Raise $100m Series-A Round

This is the Bubble pitch deck to raise a $100m series-a round in 2021.

About

Bubble introduces a new way to build a web application. It’s a point-and-click programming tool, for web and mobile. No prior coding experience is needed.

Bubble is a visual programming language for web and mobile applications. Bubble lets you build applications without typing code; it’s an alternative to Ruby-on-Rails or Django. Bubble hosts all applications on its cloud platform.

Technology is taking over everything, and they think it is a travesty that programming is still a niche skill. They want to live in a world where the average person can create technology, not just consume it. They don’t believe the path to that world is teaching everyone how to code. Why should humans learn to talk like computers? Let’s build computers that can talk like humans.

Their mission is to destroy the distinction between building technology and using technology, by making programming as user-friendly as your favorite app. They build tools that empower people to be first-class citizens of the digital world.

The rise of low-code tools means anyone with the bare minimum coding skills can create the next Uber or Airbnb.

One such tool, Bubble, makes developing web apps as easy as using PowerPoint. Its software allows people without programming skills to design and release their own apps for desktop or mobile, using a drag-and-drop interface.

The startup says it has more than 1 million users around the world and tripled its revenue in the past year.

But Bubble wasn’t always a giant. For five years, the company was just the two founders, who used their savings and any money they made to pay their salaries. In 2019, they raised a seed round of funding in order to hire employees.

Once again, Bubble is sizing up. The startup has just raised $100 million in Series A funding with plans to more than double its engineering staff. Insight Partners, a flagship private equity and venture capital firm, led the round, with participation from David Tisch’s BoxGroup, Betaworks, SignalFire, Neo, and the founders of Peloton and Hootsuite.

Emmanuel Straschnov, the co-founder and chief executive of Bubble, tells Insider that an Insight partner reached out years ago and they stayed in touch. That relationship may have given Insight an edge in scoring the lead on the deal.

“At the end of the day, choosing a lead investor is a little bit like getting married. You choose someone that you think you’re going to get along with for a long time,” Straschnov said, adding, “It comes down to intuition.”
