Wingly is a flight-sharing platform and connects pilots and passengers. Private pilots can add flights they have planned on our website, then potential passengers can easily book via our system. Besides flights to a destination, there is also a huge range of short and long discovery flights. The concept is similar to a carpooling platform and stunningly affordable. Wingly will delight people with a passion for aviation and flying, we’re democratizing the world of aviation.

It’s actually really fun to see this deck. I’ve really been hoping to use them as I’ve been thinking about getting my pilot’s licence for years. Covid got in the way!

The firm, founded in 2015 by Lars Klein, Bertrand Joab-Cornu and Emeric de Waziers, allows private pilots to offer rideshares to members of the public, helping to cut costs on an incredibly expensive hobby.

For customers hoping to do some European sightseeing, the prices aren’t outlandish: the cost of an hour’s flight is £50 (or $62).

This summer, the startup will launch Wingly Pro, which it says will make it the first online platform to allow smaller commercial aviation operations to advertise flights and connect directly with passengers. Operators will also be able to post flights with spare seats.

“This foray into commercial aviation will help us respond to existing demand from our community,” said de Waziers, “as well as complementing the leisure-oriented cost-shared flights currently being offered by the 20,000 pilots registered on our platform.”
